An International Program

The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. Through the development of traits and attitudes to learning, IB students successfully engage with people in an increasingly globalized and rapidly changing world. Our curriculum is a hands-on, student-centered curriculum that allows students to engage in meaningful activities, collaborate with their peers, and ask meaningful questions to solve real-life problems. Stokes School scholars learn how to develop independence and take responsibility for their education. They learn how to establish personal values that help them understand the importance of cultural diversity and social justice.

The IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB Learner Profile

The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. Our learners accomplish this by demonstrating the IB Learner Profile, 10 attributes valued by IB World schools.
